Custom Webbing MOQ and Lead Time: What Buyers Should Ask

Understand what affects minimum order quantities, sample approval and delivery schedules for custom webbing.

Understand what affects minimum order quantities, sample approval and delivery schedules for custom webbing.

There is no universal minimum

A minimum order quantity (MOQ) can depend on fiber, width, weave, color, artwork, yarn availability and the number of separate variants. Confirm whether a quoted minimum is per color, design, width, order or production run. Ask whether samples and reorders have different conditions.

Separate development from production

A realistic timeline includes specification review, artwork preparation, sample creation, buyer approval, material availability, production, inspection, packing and transportation. Confirm when the clock starts and how changes or delayed approvals affect the schedule. A requested delivery date is not a confirmed lead time.

Make quotes comparable

Provide expected volume, order frequency, sizes, colors, test requirements, packaging, destination and requested trade terms to every prospective supplier. Ask the supplier to identify sample charges, tooling or setup charges, validity of the offer and any assumptions.

Plan for reorders

Document the approved sample, artwork version, color standard and inspection criteria. Discuss forecast windows and acceptable changes to raw materials. Confirm actual availability, minimums and timing with KVN for each project.

Frequently asked question

Can I order a sample first?

Ask KVN to confirm sample availability, cost and timing for your construction; these vary by project.

Final specifications, product suitability and any required testing or certification depend on the intended application and agreed order requirements.
